Across Tanzania, communities continue to face challenges that limit opportunity, weaken resilience and slow sustainable development.
CEPI works alongside communities to strengthen peace, empower leadership, create economic opportunity and build inclusive societies where everyone can thrive.
Stories of Hope
Working with Tanzanian communities since our founding.
Community Empowerment and Peace Initiatives (CEPI) is a national non-governmental organisation working at the intersection of peacebuilding, conflict transformation, human rights, humanitarian action and sustainable development. We do not arrive with finished answers. We begin with listening, and we stay long enough for change to hold.
To strengthen and capacity building to facilitate peacebuilding, justice, security and economic empowerment for sustainable development resulting to poverty reduction
A peaceful society with a stable economy.
Conflict robs communities of everything they build. We work at the earliest signs of tension — with elders, women, youth and local authorities — so disputes are resolved before they harden into violence.
People closest to a problem already hold most of the answer. We invest in local leadership, skills and confidence so communities can negotiate, organise and decide for themselves.
Peace without opportunity does not last. Livelihoods, water, education and inclusive governance turn a fragile calm into a future worth protecting.
Communities define the problem and co-design the response.
Baselines, monitoring and honest learning shape every decision.
Government, civil society and private sector at one table.
Local institutions lead delivery; CEPI accompanies them.
Skills and systems that remain after the project ends.
We design for the decade, not the funding cycle.
